What’s the best way to find your way around the blog?
The HOME page on the blog is where you will find the most recent posts and if you’ve got time on your hands and fancy a good read, you could start at the HOME page and work your way back through all the posts.
But if you want to zoom straight to what you’re looking for, head to the RECIPES page where you can use the SEARCH facility or scan through the thumbnail photos by category to see what catches your eye.
How often do I post?
I post once a week – usually on a Tuesday. Emphasis on the ‘usually’ …
Where do the recipes come from?
The recipes on the blog come from all over the place. Some of them are family recipes that have been handed down through the generations; some are little gems from friends; many are from my ever-expanding collection of cookery books; others are from foodie magazines and sometimes there may be things that are inspired by something I have found on another food blog. You’ll always know where the recipe or the inspiration came from and how much I have tweaked it.
How can you be sure that the recipes you find here will not only be gorgeous, but will be reliable too?
I cook a lot – no, I cook a HUGE amount. I’m always trying out new recipes and new ideas. To be honest, many of them get rejected and if they aren’t rejected they are almost always tweaked and adapted until I am sure that they are just right and until I’m sure that you will love them too. Often my tweaks are to make things quicker, easier and less fuss. By the time a recipe gets to the blog, I will have made it a few times just to be sure that I have the disasters and NOT you. I want you to feel completely confident that making any of the recipes on ‘marmalade and me’ won’t be a waste of your time.
What should you do if you love a recipe or post?
Shout it off the rooftops, jump up and down with excitement, throw a party, share it on Facebook, tell your friends ….. and failing all of those suggestions, please, please, please post a comment. It’s easy too. Just go to the bottom of the post, type your comment in the box and press POST COMMENT. I would always love to know –
- that you like the sound of a recipe and that you are itching to try it,
- that you made a dish and it was fantastic,
- that you substituted a few ingredients and it was still drop dead gorgeous.
And, do you know what – other readers would love to hear what you think too. They’d like to know that a real life person made this thing and it really was as good as all the hype. Go on … in the words of the Greek Goddess Nike … just do it.
And, if you make something that doesn’t quite work out as you’d planned, what then?
Again, please comment. Maybe I can suggest what went wrong or perhaps there may be something a bit ambiguous in the recipe that I can clarify for you.
How can you be sure that you don’t miss any new posts?
The very best way of all is to subscribe for email alerts. This means that you will get an email landing in your in-box every time there is a new post – so you’ll always be the first to know about the things that are hot off the press. You can do it right here, so no need for any delay –
All you need to do is put your email address in the box and press ‘GO’. We will then send you an email to confirm your subscription and you’ll need to press ‘Yes, subscribe me to the list’. It’s a two click process. Easy peasy. Oh, and I promise, I will guard your email address with my life. Scout’s honour.
And finally, what if you have ideas for things you would like me to write about?
Get in touch – email is the best way. You can find my details under CONTACT. I look forward to hearing from you …
